This is one of the first, a woodcut block printed on asian paper with bamboo spars. (Bamboo is a pain to split and smooth out, but it's still fun to make your own spars)
This is the primary design, and best photo, for the second kite. It is also made up of woodcut prints on asian paper. When tails are added, it also flies, but being the first kite I made where the spars mimic the form, the area with the head is a little weak for flight.
